Well I'm Back!!!!!!

OMG It's been such a long time fam!!!!! I have missed all of you and I am happy to report that I am going to start blogging again.

I was in the world of retail so that didn't really allow me to blog as much as I would have liked but now I have the itch again.

So many things to talk about so many things that has happened really so sit back and relax on this blogging adventure

Sheding the Past..............Last Post of 2014!!!!!!

It is interesting when you grow up because you are constantly changing. I am changing and evolving everyday and it's a good thing in my opinion. I mean it's a good thing in many ways but sometimes people can mistake growth for change and I've never seemed to understand this concept. Just because I may do something a little differently then I used to doesn't mean I am changing. I am growing!!!!!! I mean like is all about change and growth anyway so why is there this negative connotation towards these concepts?????

It is important for all of us to move on from certain situations that could have been causing us harm. Getting rid of that person or people that bring you down and realizing who is actually there for you in the end. Too much of anything is never a good thing. So I will take tonight to reflect on the things this year that has affected me in a negative way and try to change them.

I suggest you do the same :-)

Sheding the past is not necessarily a bad thing it could actually do someone a world of good.

Progression.......Moving Forward and NOT looking back

 

 

You never know how inspiration can come from an unlikely place. Some time ago I was in a cab talking to the driver and he expressed that in America you can truly work for what you want vs his country where you could not. He expressed how in his country he was not able to be able to afford to live in his country becasue of the crime rate and things of that nature. He then went on to express how he was able to work here and progress. He came here with just the clothes on his back and nothing else and now he had him own apartment and car. He was working two jobs and said he didn't have a problem with it because of the progress he was making.

That truly inspired me to start grinding the way that I currently am so I can put myself in a position to succeed as well. I realized I was just existing instead of actually living life and more importantly wasting a lot of time doing things that had nothing to do with progression at all. This conversation with the driver made me understand that I need to do more. In America we have so many luxuries that we feel they are just supposed to be here. They aren't!!!!! If you can do more why aren't you........2015 The year of progression.

Ok....I have been really exploring my inner K-POP side as of late!!!!! I was always hip to the legendary Girl's Generation who are the best selling female group in the world but now I have broadened my horizons a little and found new acts that I like a lot. A NEW CHAPTER!!!!!!

I recently got a new job and I am so very happy. Interestingly enough it's the least amount of work I've ever done and I am making the most I have ever made. Which brings me to what I wanted to talk about today. Why is it in America the jobs with the least amount of labor tend to make the most money??? Does this seem to make any sense to you because it makes none to me. I have slaved literally for 5 years working my jobs, which have been retail, and now I have my first desk job FINALLY!!!!! Guess what. I will not take it for granted at all and I will NOT forget where I came from!!!!

I think that this has been a long time coming for me and I am excited for the opportunity. The interesting thing is that it seems we can take these things for granted as if they are guaranteed. It's one of the old sayings that people don't know how good they have it until it's gone. While this is truly unfortunate it's completely true. These people at this job have it so good and I feel they might be taking it for granted. I know people who would kill for a job like this. To be able to sit down and not be ran through the dirt all day long and get paid a decent salary as well.




Speaking of not knowing what you have until it's gone. My old job now wants me extremely badly. It's interesting that you work at a place and give it your all only to have them take you for granted. I never feel like they treated me badly at all but since I have left I see they never fully realize the delicious meal I brought to the companies table. I realize this more and more everyday because I still work there on a part-time basis. Suddenly all of these opportunities that were invisible before are present in plain view. I even had the GM sit me down in his office and talk to me about how I'm an asset to the team. I don't blame him because he is knew and was just getting to know my work. But the other managers are sure missing me because I took a lot of weight off of theie shoulders as a supervisor.

It feels good to know that they finally see all that you did, no matter if it may be too late.

At A Crossroads!!!!

Sometimes I wonder why things like this keep happening to me?? I mean it seems I have met a perfect guy. He's kind, patient, soothing and really loves me. He has been a perfect gentleman the entire time we have dated. Claiming he wanted to wait to have sex in order to truly get to know me. That notion only made my heart go beat beat and made my love for him stronger.

Now we have gotten into the bedroom and things have taken a turn for the worst. I mean we have tried a few times now and the pieces of the sexual puzzle seem disjointed. I am being as supportive as I can but damn. I just want to get done proper out and inside the bedroom by the same man.

Why does that seem like it is so hard to find in this life?!?!?!?! Every guy that I've been with that is good at sex is terrible at being in a loving relationship.  On the other side of the coin those who seem to have the relationship piece down dont know how to have great sex. Ugh!!!!!!!! Why is it so hard to find both at the same time???

A part of me thinks I'm personally being extremely shallow. Another feels I am perfectly valid in these frustrations I am currently experiencing.  I honestly don't know what to do at this point. I am at a crossroads wondering which way to wander.

Maybe in life we have to choose and not necessarily have it all.

I will not be defeated!!!!!

In life there seems to be things that are constantly coming up to distract you. Whether these things are good or bad, there always seems to be something falling from the sky to keep you occupied.  I mean there's bills, loved one's, personal issues, work. It seems the responsibilities of life are endless.

These various obstacles have the ability to get someone down. So much so they feel it impossible to go on. They may feel that fighting is futile and they want to take the easy way out and give up all together. DO NOT give up!!!!! You cannot be defeated that easily in this life because it will chew you up and spit you out if you let it.

Don't allow the minor set backs of life to get you down. Instead, just prioritize the things you want to accomplish and handle them accordingly. Many people underestimate the strength a human can endure and don't give themselves enough credit for being strong. You can do it!!! You are strong enough and can weather the storm of life if you truly believe you can. It's not about how many storms you've been in, but how you handle them.

It's Just These Rainy Days

Rain has always been something near and dear to my heart. When I was younger I actually would pray it would rain so I could use my umbrella because I loved it so much. Ahhhh to be a kid again. Those were the times where the rain was a comfort. When you didn't have a care in the world so you could gingerly curl back into your sheets and fall back to sleep to the sounds of the soothing liquid.

Now as an adult, the rain can mean many things. It can be a blessing or an inconvenience. I personally love the company of my boo (wherever he is) when there is a downpour. It just seems to make things very romantic for some reason. But on days like today where it was so hard to get out of bed and go to work in the first place; the rain is not my friend.

I am officially late for work now because I wanted those few extra minutes of rest. I wanted to go back to being that kid that could sleep the day away without a care. I realize that is no longer my reality unfortunately, but it sure sounds nice. Well!!! I will get there when I get there. I'm already late. I might as well enjoy the train ride for what it's worth and continue to gaze at the rain stream down my window.

It has got to be one of the most frustrating things in life to work for a boss that youre smarter than. Smarter than the person placed to consistently and constantly judge the caliber of your work. How can they judge when they have no clue what they are doing and don't have any clue of your daily responsibilities? It is almost as if companies put these random people in these high positions and for what???

Y'all know what I'm talking about????

Anyway, to get through a common day with them just breathe, count to ten, and know that tomorrow is coming. The good thing about most bosses that know you're smarter than them is they usually know it as well. They tend to trust you more and leave you alone when it comes to your job; mainly because they know you know it and they have not a clue of how to do what you do.

No it's not fair at all but such is life. We just have to get through the days and hope all the applications you have been putting out into the job market will eventually pay off.

Wanting More!!!!!!

Have you just ever wanted more and try to figure out how to get it??? I mean it's truly tough. More respect, more power, more love or money. I am working and loving it everyday but I feel this desire to do better. To do more. Not that I'm doing bad at all but I just feel this emotion telling me that I'm not where I would like to be in life.

How do I get rid of this sound or at least quiet it a little? Maybe there isn't a way. Maybe I am doomed to hear this voice inside my head for eternity. Always wondering what could have been. Looking back at the things I could have done. Unless I fix the things that are bothering or distracting me at this moment in my existence. I know I can do this!!! Most people don't realize the power of the human mind. Once it's set it's set and you can do anything you want.

Keep your head up. If you don't like the way life is unfolding, change the things you are doing in order to get the wrinkles out!

Meningitis Outbreak Soars Across the US

At least 91 people have been infected with an unusual type of meningitis caused by contaminated steroid injections, federal health officials said Sunday, with seven deaths. The drugs were given starting May 21, much earlier than previously suspected, officials with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
They are urging anyone who has had an injection for lower back pain to watch for symptoms of meningitis, which include a stiff neck and balance problems.
Cases have been identified in nine states and health officials fear the numbers will rise as doctors check patients for the symptoms. Doctors and patients alike may not know to look for the unusual infection, which can takes weeks to develop after an injection.
The drug is question is called methylprednisone and is used mostly to treat older patients for lower back pain. The contaminated drugs have been traced to a single pharmacy in Massachusetts, the New England Compounding Center. The pharmacy has closed voluntarily and recalled its products, which include steroids, painkillers and dozens of other drugs.

Naked Student Fatally Shot By Officer

A day after a naked student at the University of South Alabama was fatally shot in the chest by a campus security guard, his mother and friends are asking why no other means were used to subdue the 18-year-old.
According to a statement released by the university, an officer heard loud banging on the police station window early Saturday and left his post to investigate. The man banging on the window was Gilbert Thomas Collar, an 18-year-old freshman who had graduated high school the previous spring. He was naked.  According to the university statement, the officer “was confronted by a muscular, nude man who was acting erratically. The man repeatedly rushed and verbally challenged the officer in a fighting stance.”
The officer allegedly asked Collar to stop, but the young student chased him “in a threatening manner and ignored the officer’s repeated commands.”
That’s when the officer drew his police sidearm and shot Collar once, striking him in the chest.
Collar “got up once more and continued to challenge the officer further before collapsing and expiring,” the report said. The officer has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation.
Collar’s mother told CNN she doesn’t understand why the officer had to shoot her son. Her son, she said, was 5-foot-7 and weighed 135 pounds.
“He was wearing no clothes and he was obviously not in his right mind,” Bonnie Collar said. “Obviously he was not armed. He was completely naked.”
Sophomore Tyler Kendrick was also dissatisfied.
"Really, it just upsets me that there's no other way to apprehend an unarmed student rather than shooting him. I don't understand that," Kendrick told The Associated Press.
Campus officials said the confrontation was recorded by security cameras. The video and other information has been turned over to the district attorney and the Mobile County Sheriff's Office, which will review the shooting.
A university spokesman declined to say Saturday whether Collar was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The University of South Alabama is in Mobile and serves 15,000 students

Aint Nobody Got Time for That (Weekly Segment)

 

Will the Real Ref’s please stand up?!?!?

Now, I know I’m not the only one that is scratching their head about these new refs calling these games in the NFL. Today's “express” (A Washington metropolitan paper) has a picture of a clown in a ref uniform on the front cover with a title caption that reads “What a joke.” This is my and many others sentiments exactly. I mean we all are aware that football is one of if not the biggest sport in America. So because this is a billion dollar industry we need everything to be in place. The cheerleaders, players and refs!!!!! These most egregious errors are helping the NFL see how important the referee’s really are to the sport of football. These incorrect calls have affected too many games thus far this season. From Baltimore vs New England to Monday night’s square off between the Packers and the Seahawks; we all see how one call can change the entire picture of a game. The issue has gotten so big now that there is even a quote from President Barack Obama in the express paper today that reads, “Terrible, I’ve been saying for months we’ve gotta get our refs back.” Clearly aint nobody got time for this!!!!

This is becoming a national issue that needs to be resolved quickly for the NFL’s sake. Perhaps the biggest blow is to fans that bet on the game that reportedly lost an astonishing 300 million dollars. We are living in a recession and nobody got time for that. You know some people lost their rent money fooling around with these refs. The NFL is just dead wrong. They need to get the real refs who are trained to make these calls their money so they can get back to their job and the games can be called accurately. It seems the league and the refs are unable to come to an agreement over pay and pension. Apparently this lock-out with the refs has been taking place since June. That is too long and too much is riding on these games for these issues to continuously happen. Aint nobody got time for this at all. Hopefully the NFL doesn’t lose many of their devoted fan bases because of this issue. They better think long and hard because by the time we get to the playoff’s I am going to go OFF if this isn’t resolved. One thing is for sure the quickest way for the lock-out to be over is for the fans to speak their minds. Fans have more power then they think and if they start to voice an opinion the league has no choice but to listen because the fans are the ones tailgating and buying the tickets that keep the NFL machine running.

*Update* I am soooo extremely glad that these fools were able to reach an agreement. Here’s hoping that we can have good clean games this weekend.

WHITNEY!!!!!!!

She was found in her hotel room at 3:55p.m. and she was 48 years old

This is a truly sad day as the GREAT and ICONIC Whitney Houston has left the earth. I mean I got to my office this morning and started to listen to her tracks and just lost it. OMG I am sooo happy no one else was in there with me when I lost it. I mean the sound of that voice and to have the notion that we will never hear it again is just crazy to me.

She is one of the greatest voices ever to grace a stage and many have been touched by her gift from God. Many have decided to pick up a microphone and start to sing just because of her voice. From her millions of album sales, sold out world tours, countless awards, and millions of adoring fans She is the utter definition of a Legend and icon and true pop royalty. She will always be remembered and there most certainly will never be another with those pipes.

Her voice was so good because she did more then just belt. She always had perfect vocal technique and effortlessly floated from one note to the other. She had the range and grit in her voice that allowed her to fly all over the musical spectrum. Pop, R&B, a clear acapella, the woman could do anything and could do no wrong vocally when she was at the top of her game.
